If your Flocus background isn't displaying and appears all black, try the following steps:
1. Hard Refresh the Page
A hard refresh can clear cached data and force the page to reload. You can do this with the following keys with your Flocus app window open:
Windows/Linux: Press Ctrl + Shift + R
Mac (Chrome/Firefox): Press Cmd + Shift + R
Mac (Safari): Press Cmd + Option + E
2. Check for Dark Mode Extensions
Make sure you don’t have any dark mode extensions installed in your browser — they can sometimes override Flocus backgrounds. You can check this
Chrome: Go to Menu → Extensions → Manage Extensions and toggle off any Dark Mode extensions.
Firefox: Go to Settings → Add-ons → Extensions and disable any Dark Mode extensions.
Edge: Select the Extensions icon (puzzle piece at the top right, or via the ⋯ menu) → Extensions and turn off any Dark Mode extensions.
Safari: Go to Safari → Settings → Extensions and uncheck any Dark Mode extensions.
3. Test in Incognito Mode
If the issue persists, try opening Flocus in an Incognito or Private Browsing window. This can help determine if a browser extension or cached data is causing the problem.
4. Bonus: Check Your Theme
Just in case — make sure you don’t accidentally have the Minimalist Black theme selected if you want to go with another theme!
